How a low carb diet works?
There are three types of energys that the body needs to survive (Carbs, Proteins, and Fats) , for a large percentage of the population carbs are the main energy source used by the body. A low carb diet takes away that main source of energy and forces the body to resort to extract its energy from Proteins and Fats. The problem is its not that easy and doesn’t happen the first day, the first week of the Low Carb Diet should go something like this.
Day One: Not bad, you still have your energy and you are not craving carbs that much.
Day Two: your are starting to crave Carbs pretty bad, your body is realizing its main source of energy and is not liking it.
Day three: you feel groggy, in a haze your body wants a slice of bread almost more than water,(this in my point of view is the hardest part of the week)
Day Four through Seven is a gradual increase in energy as your body starts to convert to using Protein and Fats.
After Day Seven you should have lost close to 10 pounds if you were truly on a very low carb diet, the bad part is this diet is a way of life. Once you start eating carbs again you will start gaining a large percent of the fat back.
